Recycling

Recycling EmblemRecycling is the most recognized concept in solid waste  management.  It is, however, only one part of a larger integrated solid waste management system.  Recycling can reduce the amount of material going into landfills.

Recycling makes sense.  The concept is simple:  recycling turns materials that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources.  Collecting used bottles, cans and newspapers and taking them to the curb or to a collection facility is just the first in a chain of event that generates a host of environmental, social and financial returns.
